Plastic Free July

Have you heard of this before? I discovered it since the start of Bloom Mondays, when I also began focusing more on plastic-free gifts. This non-profit movement is aimed at helping people worldwide reduce their plastic use, thereby keeping our streets cleaner and protecting our oceans.

Just before I started Bloom Mondays, I realized that many gifts are packaged in plastic. That in many cases, plastic packaging materials are used and deliveries aren't made in a sustainable way. I thought that could be done differently. So, in the shop, you will mainly find products from brands and makers who find this just as important!

Sustainable gift ideas

We have listed a few gift ideas to help you get started with your sustainable resolutions.

Huskee cups

Nowadays, you receive coffee to go in a paper cup, but that also piles up and contributes to environmental pollution. Therefore, it is better to bring your own coffee cup, such as these beautiful Huskee Cups. A nice circular product because it is made from coffee husks, which are normally discarded during the milling process. This Australian company has really thought things through!

Soap bars

If you look in your bathroom now, there is a good chance there is a plastic bottle of shower gel. Don't really know where to start to change this? Then try a soap bar. It is completely plastic-free and lasts much longer, making it less harmful to the environment. We have beautiful soaps in the shop from Azur and Zeeplokaal. Also suitable for vegans!

Organic tea herbs

Finally, the same applies to tea bags. Because did you know that tea bags contain a huge amount of microplastics! So, go for a bag of tea herbs from the Haarlem-based tea sommelier Ciska. With her company Theekraampje, she makes the most wonderful herbal tea. Combine the tea with this beautiful Bloom Mondays tea infuser.

Sustainable packaging

Did you know that all our packaging is free of plastic and that we only work with sustainable packaging materials? This way, you don't end up with all sorts of packaging that you have to throw away at home yourself. All packaging can also be easily reused and/or used to store items. Everything is also packed as compactly as possible, so that no unnecessary materials are shipped.
